The beauty of Böttingen marble convinced Duke Karl Eugen of Württemberg (1737-1793), and so the Marble Hall and staircase in the expanded New Palace in Stuttgart were decorated with Böttingen marble.
The beauty of Böttingen marble was rediscovered in 2014 by the painter Fritz Genkinger with his book "Böttinger Marmor" (Böttingen Marble). The book documents the different structures, such as flowing stripes and banding, in pictures.
The use of Böttingen… marble was not solely for aesthetic reasons. Today, the quarry is almost completely overgrown.
This Böttingen marble is a slowly crafted work.

Buchberger is a sculptor and painter. Rock and pop, beginning in the late 1960s, have been a culture with many facets that have never faded. And many musicians and groups, from then to the present, are influenced by the spontaneous moments on stage in his paintings. This is the focus. When viewed in more detail, the painting is a contemporary image of the baby boomer generation. The sculptures are completely separate from this. Here, the focus is on the depiction of heads. This can be described as traditional sculpture. This also applies to Renate Buchberger's work with stone. While the stone she works with is traditionally marble from Italy or Ticino and alabaster, Renate Buchberger works with various types of marble, basalt, and travertine. Another area of activity for Renate Buchberger is papier-mâché figures, as well as objects and sculptures made of wood, steel, etc., often spontaneously developed through upcycling.
