About this artwork
In this painting, I captured the vibrant energy and emotional intensity of ballet dancing. Using acrylic and colored pencils, I express the bold blue tones of the costumes and the dynamic movements of the dancers. This work celebrates the beauty and power of the human form in dance, conveying a sense of freedom and lightness. It is a tribute to the art of ballet, which fills any space with elegance and movement.
Buchberger is a sculptor and painter. Rock and pop, beginning in the late 1960s, have been a culture with many facets that have never faded. And many musicians and groups, from then to the present, are influenced by the spontaneous moments on stage in his paintings. This is the focus. When viewed in more detail, the painting is a contemporary image of the baby boomer generation. The sculptures are completely separate from this. Here, the focus is on the depiction of heads. This can be described as traditional sculpture. This also applies to Renate Buchberger's work with stone. While the stone she works with is traditionally marble from Italy or Ticino and alabaster, Renate Buchberger works with various types of marble, basalt, and travertine. Another area of activity for Renate Buchberger is papier-mâché figures, as well as objects and sculptures made of wood, steel, etc., often spontaneously developed through upcycling.
