About this artwork
In this oil painting, I used the rich, velvety depth of the natural palette, allowing the dark background to emphasise the bright, almost theatrical presentation of the irises. Each brushstroke embodies my passion for the Impressionist style, seeking to evoke a sense of subtle drama and romantic elegance. This work of art brings warmth and mysterious charm to any room.
To emphasise them, I created a contrasting background that appears black but is… actually a multitude of shades, from Indian yellow to alizarin and purple in the final glazing stage. As additional elements, I used bluebells growing in the forest.
The canvas has been additionally primed.
Underpainting helps to create an internal colour range. A few glossy words help to add extra colour and highlight details.
The painting is framed with a wooden baguette, size with frame 82.5 x 62.5 cm (32.4 x 24.6 inches).
