Concept and Atmosphere This miniature (20x20 cm) is an explosion of energy and contrast. The work focuses on the power of light: a flaming orange sunset challenges the frosty, tactile landscape. The viewer sees not just reeds, but flaming silhouettes frozen in the snow.
Mastery and Texture The painting is executed in the pure Impasto technique. Thick, applied oil paint creates an arresting, palpable texture.… You can feel the relief of the frozen snow and the rime on the stalks.
