About this artwork
Thematically, this series interweaves reality, dreams and surreal situations. In doing so, she does not rely on well-known and established symbols that are anchored in the collective consciousness, but seeks very own, personal and subjective connections.
It is not the formal aspect of the picture that presents this surreality to us. Rather, it is a special mood in which nothing special happens, but which emotionally gives us a premonition of something… that we cannot clearly define and put into words.

Inga Mihailovic is an award-winning painter and draftsman based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally and in Serbia. She believes that since there are so many wonders in this world, she cannot not limit herself to certain topics or manners of expression. Creating in cycles, one of the recurring themes in Mihailovic's pieces is the portrait. Her distinctive compositions are made with acylics, oils, and collage on canvas.
