About this artwork
Pila, Blue Green landscape with flower stalks on the horizon, oil on panel, 40 x 50 cm, 2016. Traveling in the Po estuary, I looked for a spot where I would have an unobstructed view of the river's waters. Among the luxuriant plants in the landscape along the shore, in many places tall, single-stalked grass plants protruded, the uppermost third of which bore grey-violet flowers. In some places I saw abandoned courtyards, which could be recognized…
by the rusty agricultural equipment that was standing around there, and the same high-stemmed plants grew over the window fronts towards the house gables. I painted the picture on a wooden panel and applied the paint to the top layer with a spatula. Main Colors: Blue, White; Technique: oil on wood painted with brush and spatula in 5 layers; fastening device on the back; as picture 16 in the printed catalog "In the apparent gray of the side streets";
