About this artwork
This work explores the quiet pressure of being shaped by expectations, by relationships, by invisible rules that slowly press the body and identity into form.
The figures are intertwined, partially erased and rebuilt through layers of collage, charcoal, and paint. Faces appear unfinished, as if caught between becoming and dissolving. The background fragments of text act as a muted noise — society speaking, labeling, defining — while the figures… struggle to hold their own contours.
The use of hand-applied paint and raw materials emphasizes vulnerability and imperfection. Nothing here is polished; everything is exposed. The figures are not portraits, but states of being — compressed, overlapping, resisting clarity.
This work is not about resemblance, but about tension:
between inside and outside,
between what is imposed and what remains unspoken.
