About this artwork
Pair of Siamese fighting fish.
The work is made with watercolor, ink and ballpoint pen drawing on a paper collage base.
The collage composed of various types of watercolor paper with a weight of 300 or 600 grams and light handmade paper frames the animals, giving them prominence and acting as a link between the figure and the background.
The pen drawing is the workhorse with which this artist loves to describe in detail every detail: observing… the work closely we can get lost in every line, from a distance the figure of the fish is perfectly clear and recognizable, approaching we see that it is composed of a multi-faceted universe created by details of paper, color and pen.
As in most of Irene's works, the animal's eye is alert and looks directly at the viewer.
