About this artwork
This painting is part of an exploration of intuitive mark making— gestures and states of being relating to landscape. My works are layered and atmospheric, offering dreamlike impressions of worlds seemingly in the process of becoming. The lyrical, gestural marks feel organic and free, while biomorphic forms and muted color relationships contribute to the sense that these are visions inspired by the subconscious.

Irene Nelson is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in several solo exhibitions nationally.
