About this artwork
In this painting, I've embraced the raw emotion of spontaneity, blending passionate reds with gentle pastels to create movement and drama. The bold strokes in acrylic and the textured lines in charcoal come together in an abstract composition that challenges and delights. Each element coexists yet converses - an intricate dance of color and form. It's meant to ignite conversation and bring a powerful energy into any space, evoking curiosity and wonder…
with its enigmatic presence.

« My work is gestural and reflects what I feel when standing alone in the light-filled space of my studio. »
Irene Nelson is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in several solo exhibitions nationally. She describes her abstractions as spontaneous instinctual compositions, created using a predetermined color palette. Devoid of meaningful narratives, Nelson's pieces are an expression of the "fear and exhilaration of the unknown", inviting the viewer to discover its essence through their own relationships to color and form.
