About this artwork

The painting depicts a contemporary still life, combining elements of classical art and pop culture. However, we also see an assortment of McDonald's fast food: French fries, chicken wings, a burger, and a milkshake cup bearing the company logo.

We understand that the girl is still eating, as indicated by the woman's… hand holding a candy wrapper. Perhaps this is the artist's own hand, inscribing herself into the painting. The scene appears to be accidental: it resembles a snapshot or a still from a film. The image is alive, moving and changing.
The unusual aspect lies in the contrast between the sublime, romantic image of the flowers and the prosaic, everyday appearance of popular food. This blending of the high and the low, the beautiful and the mundane, is characteristic of contemporary art.
