About this artwork
Illuminated windows in the dark, cold season. The brushstrokes are very spontaneous and expressionistic. Urban situation with a natural component. Acrylic on high-quality canvas-covered painting board.
In this painting I tried to capture the mood of a late evening in the city, where only the lit windows show life against the dark, unyielding facade of the building. These windows represent to me small glimmers of hope in a world that often seems… cold and forbidding. Using acrylic paints and elements of expressionism and impressionism, I created an atmosphere that is both thought-provoking and warm. This artwork is intended to evoke a feeling of intimate connection and quiet comfort in the viewer.

Irina Seller is a significant painter, raised with a pure passion for art. Through her work with oil, acrylic, and tempera paints, she explores post-Impressionism, magical realism, and modern expressionism. Her techniques are dramatic, serene, powerful, subtle, joyful, and dark, creating a powerful visual language. Irina Seller's artworks are strongly autobiographical and, with their mythological figures, evoke an exaggerated yet authentic emotional depth.
