In my painting I have used realism to create a powerful, emotional scene. The central figure, the angel, dressed in brilliant yellow, rises powerfully, symbolically representing the overcoming of adversity. He rolls the stone away from the tomb. Behind him emerges the foot of the risen Jesus with the nail mark. She is surrounded by figures in a seemingly resting pose, bringing contrast and depth to the narrative.
