About this artwork
In creating this piece, I embraced minimalism's purity and the depth of expressionism. The pearl embellishments hint at oriental art's elegance, while the dynamic strokes reflect impressionism's influence. My passion is evident in the bold contrasts, inviting introspection and tranquility. This artwork will infuse a space with serene energy and a contemplative ambiance.

« My soul as a gradation from ivory black to dark slate, silver beige to light pearl grey. Surrounded in darkness, yet enfolded in light. »
Iris Issen is an artist based in Japan whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally. She describes her art as orbiting around the concept of the four symbols in Japanese, as well as the classic Chinese philosophy that considers all creatures on Earth as being under the guardianship of the four cardinal directions. Issen primarily creates with wax and mineral oigments.
