About this artwork
This painting is a heartfelt tribute to my heritage, capturing cherished memories through personal items. It features photographs of my grandparents, alongside a 100-karbovanets note, known as the ‘Yekaterynenka,’ symbolizing the savings started by my husband’s grandparents. I am a Vienna-based artist originally from Kyiv, Ukraine. Passionate about painting since childhood, I studied at the art school of the Teacher’s House in Kyiv. After a successful career as an economist and banker, I returned to my creative roots, working in watercolor, oil, and later acrylics.
Since moving to Austria in 2019, I have honed my skills through private lessons, courses at the Vienna Adult Education Centre (VHS), and online studies with Natalia Nosyk’s art school. My works have been exhibited and recognized in competitions. My art reflects a confident use of color, light, and composition, inspired by nature, seascapes, and still life.
