About this artwork
This painting was inspired by a winter carriage ride with horses in a park near Filzmoos. As we moved slowly along the snowy road, the landscape opened toward the distant alpine mountains, and the quiet rhythm of the horses created a peaceful sense of travel through the winter scenery.
In this work I wanted the viewer to feel as if they were sitting in the carriage, looking forward between the horses as the path leads deeper into the valley. The… warm tones of the horses contrast with the cool light of snow and mountains, capturing the crisp air, soft winter colors, and the calm atmosphere of an alpine day.
The scene reflects a moment of simple beauty — a traditional horse-drawn ride through a snowy landscape where nature, movement, and silence come together.
I am a Vienna-based artist originally from Kyiv, Ukraine. Passionate about painting since childhood, I studied at the art school of the Teacher’s House in Kyiv. After a successful career as an economist and banker, I returned to my creative roots, working in watercolor, oil, and later acrylics. Since moving to Austria in 2019, I have honed my skills through private lessons, courses at the Vienna Adult Education Centre (VHS), and online studies with Natalia Nosyk’s art school. My works have been exhibited and recognized in competitions. My art reflects a confident use of color, light, and composition, inspired by nature, seascapes, and still life.
