About this artwork
"Frozen Heart" is the first work in my series in which I want to capture my admiration and fascination for the world of birds. This painting belongs to my Avian series.
I chose the Philippine Luzon dagger-stinger dove, a shy and predominantly ground-dwelling species of dove. It lives hidden in dense forests and is now only found on the Philippine islands of Luzon and the Polillo Archipelago.
I chose a raw angelite as the gemstone, whose soft,… blue-grey color reminds me of an iceberg.
