About this artwork
This painting depicts an ermine in its winter coat, cautiously peeking out of its hiding place and touched by the first rays of the new day's sun. The dark blue background lends the scene a serene, yet mysterious depth.
I deliberately chose this work as my first oil painting, since the ermine was already the animal motif in my first acrylic painting, "Spring Awakening".
Like "Spring Awakening", this painting also represents the changing of the… seasons and the adaptability of nature.
