“I saw those young kids standing along the fence watching us while we were making music and it felt unfair. So I started to teach them trumpet.”
Rafeeq is a mural artist, graphic designer and musician. He teaches youngsters to express themselves and to connect through music. It creates harmony that spreads out through the community.
The series will be exhibited at the PhotoDoc. Fair in Paris 10-12 May 2019.… Isabel Corthier will share 20% of the profits with the people portraited.

Her photographic works are deeply invested in creating dignified, humanizing representations of communities that have been effected by political turmoil or other forms of conflict. Her works are powerful portraits of people in various walks of life, both intimate and resounding in their affect.
