About this artwork
The artist wanted to make this landscape of Tuscany almost abstract by materializing the buildings with flat areas of paint, irregular and colored by natural pigments. The village planted in the middle of the white canvas as the sole element of the landscape reinforces the abstract side of the painting.

« Being closer to nature suits me in life as in painting ! I try to give nature a depth, render its three dimensions on my canvas and thus, show what seems invisible in reality. »
Isabelle Michel is an emerging French painter with national exposure. She works the chosen object in relief and in hollow using charcoal, acrylic paint, pigments or sand to make it more present, more alive and to give it a hyper-realist appearance and sometimes going towards a form of abstraction.
