About this artwork
This is another example of how I was inspired by the walls of the city, where I live. Ther e is a small piece of paper (where a stencilt was painted) glued onto the canvas. (see additional photos). This time she has preferred to use monochrome color in order to offer more relaxing painting despite the crowded city where she lives in.

« I feed myself on the city where I live, the most. I am thrilled by the fact that its walls can tell everything about that city, including how it changes over time. »
Turkish painter Isil Gulecyuz has always felt the urge to express herself visually, and feels that it was inevitable that she turned to painting. Gulecyuz's process varies- sometimes she uses traditional mediums, such as oil on canvas, other times she makes experimental works using wood, metals, and fabrics. Often centering the visibility of women in society, Gulecyuz's multilayered, evocative works also reflect her love of Istanbul.
