About this artwork
During the quarantina days she has moved her studio to home. Therefore she is only able to produce small works mainly on paper. This is a new opportunity for her to try new materials such as pastel.
The work was created on a magazine page. She has kept some shapes and writings from the page and added a stencil of a girl and some some other paper clippings.

« I feed myself on the city where I live, the most. I am thrilled by the fact that its walls can tell everything about that city, including how it changes over time. »
Turkish painter Isil Gulecyuz has always felt the urge to express herself visually, and feels that it was inevitable that she turned to painting. Gulecyuz's process varies- sometimes she uses traditional mediums, such as oil on canvas, other times she makes experimental works using wood, metals, and fabrics. Often centering the visibility of women in society, Gulecyuz's multilayered, evocative works also reflect her love of Istanbul.
