John gives in to his wife’s wishes, and subjects himself to hypnosis, only to drift into a world within, as an infant monkey in the wild of Africa. This piece captures the solemn moment where in the middle of the night, time stands still, and a terrified John in…
the arms of his sleeping mother, gazes at the lions below, while one of them stares directly at him. The use of realistic forms against a backdrop of dream-like abstraction invites introspection. Issi Moises, with a foundation in drawing from a young age, wields oil on canvas, utilizing alkyd colors for their rapid drying quality. His innovative "Dualism" splits form and color into separate yet converging tales, often using the Fat over Lean technique for layered depth. His works exude a palpable tension juxtaposed with innocence, unearthing beauty through colors in their most unadulterated state.
