ISTRIAN SEAGULL – SOLD in US
I was having coffee not far from a street light pole. On top was installed white ball.
A few minutes later a Seagull landed on it. It was looking at me and I did the same, looking back at him. After while I said to him.“Do you know what, I will paint you?”
It was in Rovinj-Croatia.
Upon my return to US, I made this painting.
Not long after a buyer came and bought my Seagull.
“Why you bought my Seagull?” I asked him.…
“Where ever I walked left or right in the room, this Seagull was looking at me.” he responded.

Ivan A. Tomicic is a painter and sculptor based in the United States whose works have been exhibited nationally, in France, Austria, and Italy. His artistic practice takes two distinct forms of expression through the use of oils and watercolors. Tomicic believes that if "oils are an orchestra then watercolors are the classical guitars or a blues harmonica". One of his favorite themes is America's Wild West, which captured his imagination as a child and continues to do so.
