PIAZZA ARMERINA, painting from the series, “The Tears of Sicily”
Beautiful little place in Sicily.
Driving by I got an impression of a huge scene in a theater as mirage. Passing by for the first time I heard an indescribable sound coming from somewhere that took over my whole-body building Goosebumps with unknown and unusual feeling of beauty. I was not able to distinguish if it was music or just unknown strange noise. All that happened turned out… to be a gift to me and I painted it.
Not long ago someone told me that earthquake has been merciless and had ruined that town, but I was lucky, thanks to God that earth quick didn’t damage my painting,

Ivan A. Tomicic is a painter and sculptor based in the United States whose works have been exhibited nationally, in France, Austria, and Italy. His artistic practice takes two distinct forms of expression through the use of oils and watercolors. Tomicic believes that if "oils are an orchestra then watercolors are the classical guitars or a blues harmonica". One of his favorite themes is America's Wild West, which captured his imagination as a child and continues to do so.
