About this artwork
Diminishing light at dusk has a very appealing bluish cast. This is especially evident in certain parks. For example, at Villa Borghese where the long shadows of late afternoon are moody and blue. In a sketchbook, I often use this colour. It allows me to depict things like outdoor sculpture and busts, with an expressive bent.
