About this artwork
I was inspired for this work from the annual Mummer games celebrated at the end
of February before meat Shrovetide and are akin to the carnival games from ancient
times. The custom in Bulgarian lands dates back to Thracian culture and was
celebrated during the days of the Thracian god Dionysus.
