About this artwork
In 2007, I made my first artistic journey (artistic residency) to Venice, where, as one of the few Polish artists, I had the opportunity to create glass sculptures of my design in the Berengo Studio glassworks in Murano, which I then exhibited at my individual exhibition in this wonderful city. In addition to sculptures made of the famous Murano glass, I presented my paintings - painterly interpretations inspired by the architecture and atmosphere…
of Venice. To this day, I visit Venice and I am inspired by this unique city, creating paintings that are small in size but strong in expression and symbolism. In these paintings, I try to combine historical elements and symbols associated with Venice with my memories of this city, trying to give history a modern, painterly form. In the painting titled "White sofa", a comfortable white sofa invites us to rest and contemplate the impressions from Venice.

Izabela Rudzka is an experienced artist based in Poland whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Denmark, Italy, and Germany. She describes the mission of her artistic practice as being to convey the power of synergy in a comprehensive human cognition of the surrounding world and to promote the common beginning of science and art in this cognition. Rudzka's distinctive style fuses impressionism with post-impressionism and abstraction.
