Series UBUNTU
My collection UBUNTU is inspired by the philosophy of Nelson Mandela. The South African wisdom that we are all connected: WE are more than I am.
For this series I travelled with my brushes. The accent is on so many beautiful, different people living together in one world. Sauda is painted with oil- and gold paint on linen with porcelain clay that cracks. Just like in parts of Africa with the earth due to prolonged heat and drought.… The color gold and transparent oxide red reflect the color of her beautiful skin and the African earth.

For JAC, there is nothing in the body that expresses love, sorrow, amazement, humor, anger, pain, emotion, excitement and longing as visibly as our eyes. She creates using acrylics, oils, and collage on linen.
