About this artwork
Another piece inspired by the moons of Saturn and Jupiter, I imagined a world of ice and oceans. Their paths continually changing and forging new rivers, streams and changing the topology forever. the piece was formed with a series of layers which were built up over time, each one adding a sense of depth to an oceanic vision. I was heavily inspired by the novel Solaris by Stanislaw Lem at the time of this painting, he writes of an ocean planet that…
is restlessly moving and conscious of itself and others, creating visions of their dreams as they approach it. The link between landscape and our imagination for me is a fundamental aspect to my work.

« My work is the study and recreation of landscapes, either real or imaginary. I paint to connect to these landscapes and be present in them. »
