About this artwork
This piece is actually 6 small seperate landscape studies created by oxidising copper panels. I wanted to make a series within a piece showing a multitude of glimpses of an unknown terrain. I saw a vast blue ocean with land masses just below the surface, the corrosive material I applied to the copper etches the delicate forms. Due to the organic process utilised in this piece, the copper oxidation creates unique shapes that can never be replicated…
in paint and a very sensititve to the touch. For this reason the piece is framed behind a double layer of glass in a custom frame.
