Born in Mulhouse in 1953, JH is self-taught. He started figurative painting in the seventies. It was in two thousand and twelve that he turned to abstract. Abstract indeed, offered him many more creative possibilities than figurative. He likes to work with oil, acrylic, but also with products from industry such as plaster, coatings, nuts, joints, etc.
He also uses several working methods, from spray paint to brushes and knives, to form these reliefs which give a more opulent dimension to the canvas.
He also tells us that he loves to see people looking at his paintings with their fingertips.
He takes us by the hand, to lead us into a universe of shimmering colors, which he makes dance in perfectly uncontrolled movements.....
