About this artwork
I created this work with acrylics to capture the horizon as a symbol of hope and possibility. The intense colors and distant figures evoke a sense of inner exploration and freedom. I wanted to convey an emotion of silent waiting, where each person finds their own path under the same broad, deep sky. The elderly man on the right, leaning on his cane, meditating, searches for his own horizon toward the sea, where memory resides, the balance of life,…
poised between the known and the abyss. The young, seated figure gazes toward her own horizon, toward the earth, toward her roots and the future, sitting in anticipation of what is to come, still unknown, yet to be built. This canvas will bring a touch of mystery and reflection to your space.

My name is Jacopo Rizzo, signed JR, a self-taught and extemporaneous artist, musician, son of a musician father and artist mother, I use acrylics in painting and marble in sculpture, alternating textured surfaces and essential forms. I experiment with vibrant seascapes, flowery fields, fluid art, and totemic sculptures, favoring the pure physicality of the pictorial gesture and the totemic rawness of the sculptural mark. My works convey a sense of emotional urgency, transforming inner experience into visual energy and poetic tension, inviting the viewer to feel deeply before even understanding. I use humble, raw materials—industrial OSB or MDF wood panels, poplar plywood, multilayer, and chipboard—to reclaim what nature has already provided. My marble is humble, unpretentious, brought to life through engraving and chiseling, without burdening the mountains or further removing other pieces from nature. Simple and instinctive art.
