In this piece, I poured raw emotions onto the poplar wood base, blending expressionism with intense feelings and the raw, elemental power of primitivism. The textures of acrylic and sand create a tactile, almost earthy presence, evoking deep introspection and vulnerability. It invites one to feel beneath the surface, embracing the complexity and timeless, often hidden emotions of humanity. This artwork energizes any space with its passionate and… soulful energy.
My name is Jacopo Rizzo, signed JR, a self-taught and extemporaneous artist, musician, son of a musician father and artist mother, I use acrylics in painting and marble in sculpture, alternating textured surfaces and essential forms. I experiment with vibrant seascapes, flowery fields, fluid art, and totemic sculptures, favoring the pure physicality of the pictorial gesture and the totemic rawness of the sculptural mark. My works convey a sense of emotional urgency, transforming inner experience into visual energy and poetic tension, inviting the viewer to feel deeply before even understanding. I use humble, raw materials—industrial OSB or MDF wood panels, poplar plywood, multilayer, and chipboard—to reclaim what nature has already provided. My marble is humble, unpretentious, brought to life through engraving and chiseling, without burdening the mountains or further removing other pieces from nature. Simple and instinctive art.
