About this artwork
This painting looks at the microscopic minutiae of life, what is real but cannot be seen with our normal sight with all its order & chaos. The circular organic motifs allude to cellular life forms, dainty aquatic-life and, in the arrangement, the pulsating rhythmic patterns of universal forms that so often stop us in our tracks in awe of their magnificence. Jacquelyn wanted the painting to be sublime and beautiful yet also have a feeling of fragility…
and vulnerability.
This is one of her first ever paintings where she starts making direct reference to microbiological cellular life forms bringing art and science together with floaty underwater life.
