A fan of painting, Jacques Majos began training in oil painting as a teenager. He strove to reproduce as faithfully as possible, using his brushes, the subjects he enjoyed photographing. This youthful passion would later be somewhat neglected, before rediscovering its full fervor in 1994, when he experienced handling a knife under the direction of Françoise Marié, a painting teacher. He then worked under her direction for 14 years, where he learned all the basics that allow him to express himself freely today. Resolutely figurative, the work of Jacques Majos is entirely focused on a meticulous representation of landscapes, worked in a single stroke (alla prima) with an alternation of more or less fine layers of fresh material, with the aim of reflecting both the delicacy and the variety of light atmospheres that run through all of his production.
