About this artwork
Love is universal. The two people depicted don't seem to be a typical couple. Surprisingly, they are head over heels in love. They are polar opposites, one is deeply religious, the other is not (one of the tattoos says: "no Madre, no Dieu"). But even though it seems like they wouldn't be likely to fall in love, they are as accepting of one another as possible. In the Painters opinion, this is how love should be.
