About this artwork
In this bronze sculpture, the symbolic character prevails over the formal. It seeks to invite reflection on the horrors of all wars. It is an indictment against the abuse of the powerful against the weak. It captures strength and fragility through its twisted and fragmented forms. It makes visible the destruction caused by the war in one part of Ukraine while showing that another, larger part remains standing, facing the enemy. I wanted to express…
the inner resilience that remains steadfast despite visible ruptures. By placing it freely, it allows light and space to pass through, filling any environment with an energy of struggle and continuous hope.
