About this artwork
Mixed media on canvas.The painting uses a lot of different materials its a thickly reliefed piece that changes its surface colours according to the light source. The impulse to make it came from reading about the Emerald Tablet of Hermes.The first known tract of Alchemy.All of the materials in the painting are made by me in the studio.

James Cummins is an established artist from the United Kingdom whose paintings have been featured in solo and group shows internationally. Cummins first discovered art as a kid at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and was inspired to paint and sculpt. He has defined his current style in minimalist abstract works in acrylic or oil on canvas in sparse color palettes of black, white, and grey.
