About this artwork
This is a large-scale black and white painting of an elephant which merges an abstract style with real subject matter. I couldn't wait to have a go at creating a powerful image of an elephant. I opted for a black and white palette as it made sense to me a high contrast would give me a much more striking effect. I have also used various shades of black to play with the depth and shadow balance. To help me with the overall design, I used a number of…
