"Painted around 2008 in Southern Spain this piece draws its inspiration from my surroundings at that time". James was living in Alhaurin El Grande, which is located on the North side of the coastal mountains behind Torremolinos. "I would ride my mountain bike up from the village to the top of the local mountain range, and on a good day I could see right across the Mediterranean to the top of the African continent". What James imagined lay beyond…
