About this artwork
“Preconceptions” and its partner “Conceptions” were painted in Mexico in late 2006, both the originals have been sold to a client in America. There is clear reference in this painting, both in the name, and in the imagery, to a birth and fertility theme. These elements, along with the bright colors, and the organic shapes, seem to reoccur in James work of this period.
