James says "for me, natural forms are thrilling to paint, there is an ease of movement and effortlessness I experience as I work on these kinds of subjects. James's floral works often have human forms in them, they may just appear, but sometimes they are planned. In this case, and with the whole “Primavera” series, it was planned.
