About this artwork
La Manzanilla (The chamomile plant) is a small beach side community about200 klm South of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In the winter the beach is busy, American residents and tourists rub shoulders with local, and vacating Mexicans. In the summer its empty, the restaurants are closed, and in general the deck chairs and umbrellas are locked away. On this day however James found a couple of chairs and an umbrella parked on the sand, he says "it seemed…
to me as if they were waiting for the tourists to return".
