Jan Astner abstract drawings are full of symbolism, emotional tension capable of displaying very subtle emotions. “Pelopses" is a perverse record of very individual feelings contained in fabulous compositions of fantastic "plants" creating unreal forms. His abstract drawings focus on the structure of emotions. By clearly presenting complicated forms, Jan loves to create tension, dramatic - shapes and forms can reflect basic emotional experiences.

Jan Astner is a painter and photographer based in Poland whose works have been featured in numerous solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in Sweden. He paints in series, which express individual experiences and thoughts. Through his compositions, Astner explores the relationship between humanity and the environment, travel memories, multi-sensory perception, meditation experiences, etc. Each of his series is painted using different techniques, and he endeavors to choose the medium that best reflects a specific concept.
