Rather studies than portraits. Images from a dehumanized, reconfigured by the technology future in which the face, the way we visualize, we perceive it, will be gone?
If we are moving in this direction, direction of a transition of the human being into a different form, which is unimaginable to most of us at the moment, a transition perceived by the followers of transhumanism as a higher, better form of the human being, then we will gradually create,… at least some of us, an alternative virtual reality in which we will yearn to return to ... ourselves.
Jan Astner shows a problem that is real and tangible. We are at the threshold of a different, but not necessarily gracious world to us. Jan Astner's “Transhuman Portraits” are a warning, trigger a non-verbal imagination. They stimulate thinking, they are screams of despair of a human being trapped in the trap of his own inventions.

Jan Astner is a painter and photographer based in Poland whose works have been featured in numerous solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in Sweden. He paints in series, which express individual experiences and thoughts. Through his compositions, Astner explores the relationship between humanity and the environment, travel memories, multi-sensory perception, meditation experiences, etc. Each of his series is painted using different techniques, and he endeavors to choose the medium that best reflects a specific concept.
