About this artwork
Every painting in this series is painted using the imprint method, without the use of a brush. Stamped with all sorts of tools and surfaces. My paintings refer to cubism, macro pointillism. Thanks to this technique, portraits are very rich and multi-layered. The structure of the picture can be studied many times, and each time the viewer will discover something new.

These are notes from meetings, a catalog of feelings and sensations. It is a moment spent with a coffee in the square, the smell of the alley while walking, the atmosphere of conversation with the residents met, it is a memory that remains after leaving.

Jan Astner is a painter and photographer based in Poland whose works have been featured in numerous solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in Sweden. He paints in series, which express individual experiences and thoughts. Through his compositions, Astner explores the relationship between humanity and the environment, travel memories, multi-sensory perception, meditation experiences, etc. Each of his series is painted using different techniques, and he endeavors to choose the medium that best reflects a specific concept.
