Sensual, showing much more than appearances, hiding secrets, protecting their taboos. Sophisticated, coquettish, but also shameless, promiscuous,… undone. The city of Jan Astner. Jan Astner is a painter and photographer based in Poland whose works have been featured in numerous solo exhibitions nationally, as well as in Sweden. He paints in series, which express individual experiences and thoughts. Through his compositions, Astner explores the relationship between humanity and the environment, travel memories, multi-sensory perception, meditation experiences, etc. Each of his series is painted using different techniques, and he endeavors to choose the medium that best reflects a specific concept.
