About this artwork
As part of his investigations into natural ecosystems Jan Philip spends a lot of time walking in forests and plantations, observing the natural phenomena present in these spaces. He collects mushrooms and other organic materials during these walks for use as both materials and subject matter in his art practice. In response to his natural spore prints he started creating paintings.
