One of Jan van der Ster’s favorite slogans is: ‘art for art’. There are no underlining messages in his abstract works. The Dutch artist, who resides in Italy, takes his time when creating a piece, as there are no limits to his artistic process. Most of Van der Ster's works are created using acrylics on paper or canvas, but he also employs spray paint and pencils. He sometimes places gesso through the paint and uses mixed technology.
